Two letters to his father and mother with three loose stamps and two envelopes addressed to James Sugden, sent from Thomas H. Sugden, who served with Company F, 63rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Also includes one-page typed transcription of the letters and an ambrotype portrait of a Civil War soldier identified as Joseph Penn of Company I, 69th Regiment, O.V.I.
